Harmonised Sculpture, Sound and Vision

Join me to celebrate my newt solo exhibition in the Yarra Sculpture Gallery in Melbourne, to be held between the 26th of October and the 19th of November 2023, with the Opening Event on the 29th of October at 2 pm.

The Architecture of Inner Space is a vibrant art installation where a sculptural form built from a donated baby grand piano acts as a canvas for a video projection. This unique art project is a collaboration with Venice-based composer Anna Dobrucka. The artists worked remotely, interpreting inner space through visuals and sound, reflecting upon human experience and how the perception of reality is formed.

The Yarra Sculpture Gallery has been exhibiting contemporary art for over 20 years.

Established in 1997 to provide a large space for sculpture and multi-disciplinary art, it has maintained itself as an Artist Run Initiative, managed by members of the Contemporary Sculptors Association (CSA).

The Artistic Commission for the South Side Festival

I feel honoured and very excited to be part of the South Side Festival. This brand new festival will showcase immersive, innovative, and thought-provoking events, including art exhibitions, music, workshops, talks, and family events.

I will be showing a collection of old and new works, including a brand new projection installation, “Architecture of Inner Space” created especially for the festival. It was possible thanks to the Frankston City Council Artistic Commission.

The soundscape for the installation is created by a pianist and composer Ania Massetti.

The FAC Open Exhibition Opening Event

Unfortunately due to covid restrictions, the Opening Event for the FAC Open Exhibition Prize 2021 did not go ahead as planned but it is incredibly uplifting to see the spirt of artists who submitted their work this year.

The Open Exhibition Competition is a major annual arts program delivered by Frankston City Council, which provides artists with the opportunity to address a chosen theme through their choice of medium.

This year’s artists have explored the theme Change – inspired by pivotal global events, the theme was open to broad artistic interpretation and could be approached from a personal, social, historical, aesthetic or climatic perspective.

Today, the Frankston Art Centre announced that the winner for this year’s Open Exhibition Competition is Ryan Lee for his video artwork ‘Wonnarua’.

Congratulations to Ryan for his incredibly powerful work.

I feel privileged to be in such a great company with my digital work ‘The Artist 2020‘.

All works are available to view on FAC YouTube Channel here

SBS podcast with the Polish Art Foundation

I have recently beeb invited by the Vice President of the Polish Art Foundation Anna Maciejewska, to join forces as a New Media Arts Advisor and support the foundation’s program of upcoming art events.

PAF was set up towards the end of the year in 1977, in Melbourne, Australia. Its spiritual founder was an artist and painter Wladyslaw Dutkiewicz. A group of his close friends decided to organise a show of his works, this in fact instigated the foundation’s birth.

The aim of the foundation is to promote Polish artists among the Australian community and vice versa, to promote Australian artists to the migrant community living in Australia.

Today, three decades on, the Polish Art Foundation hosts a range of thematic exhibitions, workshops for artists and social functions. It also conducts arts auctions, produces a quarterly bulletin and ensures that member artists have an opportunity to participate in its annual calendar of events.

I feel extremely privileged to be invited to SBS radio for a discussion about new digital media and the future plans of Polish Art Foundation .

VIBES Exhibition

“Vibes” or “Klimaty” is an exhibition featuring 27 artists interpreting our broad theme from ecological musings to personal feelings surrounding our very existence.

When we sat around our usual meeting table late last year, we could not have imagined how poignant our theme may have become.

This exhibition takes place in December 2020. A tumultuous year for mankind across continents and nations.
An ‘annus horribilis’ to borrow Her Majesty’s term as countries and individuals were forced into lockdown and continue to battle an invisible enemy. Some say imaginary some real. With political risings and falls, loud voices of social media dissent, scientific disputes, lots and lots of analysis and more commentary across the globe than history can recall.

Many of us slowed down during this history making event, some stopped to reflect. Others became restless, angry, frustrated or just sad.

Let us take some time out... look around us.
Art lifts us to a higher plane. It arrests our imaginations. Provokes. Relieves the pressures and struggles of daily life.

Feel the vibes... Delight...Enjoy... And here is hoping... and wishing you and your loved ones a happier, better, healthfilled, blessed 2021.
