The Artist
Video installation, HD, 1 channel, presented on screen, 5 min, 2021
The global pandemic paralysed our reality. The invisible microorganism dismantled the carefully constructed political and social world, destroyed businesses and divided people. The virtual world is our new normal, where we meet, work and create, even though it will only take one cyber-virus to destroy it too.
As an artist I hope to create something for the future that will remain as evidence of my existence and will document our times. In todays reality I can only exist in a digital space, reduced to a stream of data.
I am an artist in crisis who finds it difficult to continue her journey with a purpose and meaning while creating art that may not exist in the future. The world dissolves in front of my eyes.
This self-portrait has been intentionally damaged by over 60 randomly set up digital processes in order to abstract and dissolve it in a course of 5 minutes.
